BYE BYE LIVERPOOL, HELLO WORLD.

Well today we left the docks at Liverpool said goodbye to John on Borderline, taking his curtain material with us, dont worry John were not doing a runner! and travelled for 10 hrs...lots of lovely comments along the way about MillieMaize
Must say that anything above tick over on the engine is hard work, the tiller is fighting with you to go left...good job it's quite high as we ended up taking turns to take the strain with our shoulder.
We hope that an extension on the tiller will give us a bit more leverage. Otherwise we will be thinking....steering wheel....but really don't want to have to go down that route.

It rained all day, mainly drizzle but that seems to get you wetter don't you think?
MILLIEMAIZE looked awesome gliding down the canal and I felt very proud of the design.
Not sure where were heading yet but that's not a problem, not when life's so good.

Early bed we think, we always mean to have an early night, Kals headed off to Widnes then on to Warrington for the night so we have lots to do tomorrow including getting back into Liverpool for the car so goodnight for now and see you tomorrow....

LAZY , LAZY ,LAZY

We feel so so lazy today, yes we have washed all bed clothes our clothes Kals clothes and anything we set our eyes on ready for returning to battery power when were back on the system but all the things we meant to do havn't been done!

Ahhh well at least the boat builder turned up! YES YOU DID READ RIGHT, THE BOAT BUILDER TURNED UP! He's a nice guy but just a very busy guy, I suppose that's a good thing. Anyway he has agreed that the repair on the paint isn't good enough and is going to get it sorted, failed to say when though....and Tim showed him the rust on the roof which are from them grinding boats in the same room after ours had been painted and flecks have landed in the paint. He agreed to reprint after removing the offensive rusty flecks...
Lets just see how much we have to harass them.

Kal is waiting for his new girlfriend to arrive, she seems nice and ' normal' you know what I mean, her face isn't cracking under the weight of makeup, her eyebrows don't look like blackbird wings and her eyelashes are her own, hopefully she has manners too! Haaaa poor girl, doesn't know what's awaiting her.

Well, must go and see if we can muster up some life to go and sort a few things with the harbour master and get a shower at the shower block in the Albert Dock, lovely they are, thanks for reading.......x

Yet another lost cause!

Well let me first apologise for not posting yesterday. Time spent pottering doing job after job waiting for the boat builder to come and check the terrible paintwork that replaced the terrible scratches that replaced the beautiful paintwork that the being replaced broken rudder wrecked when it was getting replaced!
Well that confused me so god knows what your thinking....

Numerous phone calls back and too lead to another failed appearance and the question, " what time are you up in the morning" to which Tim replied "anytime.." So here we both are, nice cup of tea, patiently waiting....will he won't he.

I must say though, the boat is just fantastic, we arched the build nearly every day and everything was done so well but it was that final rush in the last 3 days, that's where the problems have occurred and of course the man that shouldn't be let out who is a walking disaster. Most problems seem to stem from him but who are we to tell him to get rid of him. I think the main problem is that he has a boat, that means nothing, he lives on it in a Marina within the docks. He doesn't go anywhere so can't move, manoeuvre , moor up without doing it at 100 miles an hour and as such destroys boats. Which is why the rudder was broken, reversing into a wall 5 ft away at full speed is not the best thing!
Anyway, had my rant for now. We're getting nearer to 7.30, nearer to disappointment or maybe we will be astonished, I will be sure to let you know later.

MY FEET ARE KILLING ME!

I don't know what's wrong with my feet, I'm not old by any means but for the past 3/4 yrs my feet have felt like they have been crushed under a steam roller when I stand from sitting.
I walk like a constipated duck until they warm up usually but today I walked around Liverpool with Matt my footballing son and his girlfriend then went back out for food with Tim and could barely take the pains in my feet.
It's my METATARSLES, you know, everyone broke a METATARSLE after Beckham did......
Well my feet feel like every one of them is broken and my ankles aren't far behind either...

I dread to think how they will be in another 10 yrs!

Anyway I am now going to choose a random picture from my photo's for you all today and hope to see you tomorrow....oh it's a cakeMmmmmmmmmmm

PAINTWORK! FURNITURE AND OTTERSPOOL, why does it all happen at once..

Well, organised a day dedicated to our girls, Millie & Maizee that is but had a call from the boat builder. Painter be down within the hour, that's a laugh.
An hour later the furniture maker arrives to check our complaints about the suite, all problems solved there but even after they leave, no painter!

Oh a phone call, who could that be. Yes the painter, down in an hour. Wasn't holding our breath but there you go, don't be so negative I say.
He did arrive but god give us strength, what a terrible job, maybe it will be nicer when it dries.
Will take a picture in the morning, please look nice...

Anyway, we went to Otterspool and the park was lovely, came home and looked up the history and found so much info.
The girls had fun too as you can see on the pics, oh and I stuck a pic of the muddies that Kal knocked himself out on. We were mortified when we saw them!

WORK HAS BEGUN..

At last, been out all day getting the car MOT done and visiting my Aunt Marj, who helped me relieve myself of some grey ! Arrive back at the boat and Hooray they have started on repairing the knocks and scratches that were made when replacing the rudder..
Can I just take this moment to say that when we first travelled through to Liverpool in March last year I hadn't felt like I needed a widebeam, when we reached Burscough and my husband had been hit by the bug, I hadn't and said no so many times.

I was so happy, I loved Millimaize so so much and I was so so sad when we sold her but I have to say that this widebeam is just the Biz. Thank goodness I gave in....

Paintwork still not done!

Well another day where we were promised someone would come and start to fix the scratch made when they replaced the rudder.......deep breath....
Hope you like our early morning picture towards the ferry at the pier head, Liverpool, just behind the Liver Buildings and the one close to tea -time showing the strangely square ship that's in! Must find out about its squareness....

And on a high note we eventually got our furniture from Harvey's, after a long battle, a lot of lies and a few arguments. Really pleased though and looking forward to the full effect once the floor is fitted...
