Nice weather today, won't be spending it on the boat though. Need to do the rounds and get some jobs done.
Always hate this, leaving the boat and surroundings that come with it and slip back into the community..
Alas sometimes there's no choice. Today we checked on one sons extention, getting ready for my first grandchild. so excited to have a baby around and all that comes with it....also visited my Aunt, she misses us, and picked up post from my brothers.
Really need to give the boat a clean but can you believe there's not been much time! Maybe tomorrow.
Our neighbour on NB Borderline, John, has bought curtain material for me to do his curtains. So there's a job that I havn't managed to start.....won't take long though....
Tomorrow were picking the last of our storage boxes up, ahhhh blender for my soup.
Apart from all that I am still hoping for a miracle for our friend...goodnight for now x
I would like to share with you our journey from land to water and from narrowboat to widebeam. If you do come along for the ride we hope you enjoy....

Lovely sunny day at Speke Hall
What a beautiful day it was today. Took the girls ( Millie & Maizee ) our Jack Russels to Speke hall Grounds today for a good runabout.
Also called for a couple more boxes from storage, picked Kals bike up from its service and then headed back to the comfort of our boat.
My eldest Jonathan and his partner are having the garage converted ready for their new arrival and Matthew had a haircut!
Hope you like the picture, the sun was in the wrong place and I have had to zoom in and screenshot it from my phone but better than nothing.....

Sad News
We have just returned from seeing our good friend who came home from hospital on Friday. She went back for results today but it was worse than expected. Best scenario 12months, worst 1month, average 7/8 months....
She has decided to stay on the boat as that is home, she is being very positive and having a cry too.
I feel so sad, every now and then something puts your own life into perspective and here again we are reminded why were doing what were doing....
Wish we were nearer, normally we would be with them but due to the new boat we have been apart and now with the widebeam we can't get near..........

Dock death
Sadly a gentleman fell into the queens dock yesterday and his friend tried to rescue him but couldn't...that's 3 people falling in in 3weeks and all in the day!
We're official.....
Well we now have our craft number for MillieMaize...we also have some strange mosey interfering neighbours....never had a boat before but have already reported us to Wigan! For gods sake, it's a brand new boat....today we see them with pen and paper in hand writing the number down....I think they should get rid of their boat ASAP, obviousley not right for our world....

Relaxing...
Well Tim's reading Paul Burrell's book and I am messing n the iPad. Havn't relaxed like this or ages....Kal went to his friends last night and we had a rare night alone.
There was more noise than usual around the dock area but we have since learned that there was a boxing match on at the Echo Arena so lots of male tester one hanging about.
We don't have any electricity at the minute as some idiot dropped their angle grinder in the water! Should they be even doing work in the dock....came down from the marina then went back leaving the whole area in darkness.....
Well no idea what the day will bring but I am sure we will enjoy....

Still in the Dock...
Well, still awaiting a number so we can book passage out of the dock. Spoke to Ian and Anthea on Lothian and they are up for a boozy night next weekend if we're still in...
Everything's coming together now and it's feeling like home and our friend has come out of hospital and is on her boat until treatment is decided.
Hope you like the pictures.....

Our fellow boater news
Well, from being fine our friend took a turn for the worst on Sunday morning and ended up scaring us all , however she came through only to have another downward turn on Monday morning....
Now on morphine, had biopsy yesterday and at our visit tonight she was almost her old self..
Results on Friday will decide if she can be treated here or at Christies in Manchester.
Our prayers are with you...

First cruise yesterday.....
Well, after lots of teething problems we actually had a little cruise through the docks this morning and what a lovely cruise it was. It was the first time Tim had to take the helm since the boat launch over 2weeks ago.
We must say that she handles beautifully....................

Hospital Visits....
Had an early call today about our friend that isn't well so had to dash to Leighton Hospital to visit as things were not sounding good.
By the time we left she was much brighter and I have told her she can't go anywhere as we have too much cruising to do.......
Spent the evening with one of my sons then back to the boat, home sweet home.

Fish with glasses...
It must be said that if fish needed glasses they would be well provided for by Tim and I...
Unfortunately Tims 11 month old glasses decided they wanted a swim in the dock yesterday and today we were £200 worse off for the pleasure.
What's driving us mad is the fact that every other time we have been in the dock we have been able to see the bottom, not this time...
We also had some unhappy news today about a fellow boating friend who took ill last night and things aren't looking too good so please all say a little prayer....I don't want to mention names as its not my place but just a moment of your thoughts would mean a lot..
Tim and I are devastated......

What's in a name
Hi everyone, our boat was launched on Monday 4th Feb 2013, 4 months later than anticipated but deffo worth the wait....
Our name has changed slightly as the sign writer managed to put an extra 'E' into our name. Now then we have Millie and Maizee, we took the last 'E' from each name d put the rest together, hey presto
MilliMaize but on the new boat he left Millie's name in full so now we are MillieMaize.
Never mind, we quite like it and we didn't even tell the sign writer....
We're in the Salthouse dock this week in Liverpool but will soon be on our way.
More pictures soon....
